Don’t Make Me Stare At Political Stickers

With some elections rapidly approaching this fall, the bashing advertisements and political stickers are beginning to pop up everywhere. I wish that for once, a candidate would focus on telling me about themselves other than about what their opponent has done wrong. Duh, like I can’t figure that out on my own. What I’m interested in hearing about is what they want to change in the world. Stop bashing each other - we’re not in high school anymore. Come to think of it, it is more like elementary school.

My neighborhood seems to be an even mix of Democrats and Republicans. I know this because they all seem to have their front yards decorated with political signs. When a new one appears, a neighbor has to also get another new one. It makes it easy for me to find my house, since mine is the only yard that doesn’t have any signs in it. One of my neighbors, who has quite a reputation as being a political guru has decided that decorating his brand new car with political stickers was a great idea. Why someone thinks that having political stickers all over their cars will influence my vote is beyond me. Political stickers do nothing but annoy me. But hey - if you want to peel those annoying political stickers off of your car after the election is over, be my guest. I’m still getting a kick out of seeing political stickers from the last presidential election still on cars. Especially those who clearly lost the elections. That’s their problem, not mine.

I have to ask all of the politicians out there, why even have political stickers made? I suppose that I understand the signs for people’s yards and the flyers that are passed out. I even have a bit of respect for the commercials that are shown on television, though I suggest you stop bashing one another and start focusing on yourself. What I just don’t understand is why you spend your campaign money on printing political stickers. Obviously, there are people out there who are ridiculous enough to put them all over their vehicles. Seeing someone with political stickers all over their bumpers isn’t going to sway my vote.

I realize that you simply want your name out there and to have it continued to be fresh in the minds of your voters, but enough is enough. Instead, focus on something else. Do more in the community to get your name out there. Don’t rely on such petty and annoying things like political stickers. For someone like me, tell me why I should vote for you. Don’t make me stare at any more political stickers.
